Conestoga Generals History

The Generals currently compete against organizations from Abington, Bristol, Horsham, Lansdale, Lenape Valley, Marsh Creek, Methacton, Palisades , Penndel, Pennridge, Pottstown , Quakertown and Souderton. In recent years, several teams from the Bux-Mont Pop Warner league have competed for, and won, national Pop Warner championships held at the Walt Disney World complex in Orlando , Florida (and televised nationally on ESPN).

The Generals offer flag football for boys and girls ages 5 through 7, cheerleading for ages 5 through 15 and weight-based football for players ages 7 thru 13. Currently, weight- based teams are fielded at the 70lb., 80lb., 90lb., 100lb., 120lb. 135lb. and 1551b. levels.

The Generals are an all-volunteer organization. Many of the volunteer coaches have college football playing experience and some also coach football at area schools, including Conestoga High School in Berwyn .

For all of its programs, the Generals emphasize academic performance as a criterion for participation. Several of the boys and girls in the Generals' programs have earned academic awards from the Bux-Mont Pop Warner league and the national Pop Warner Little Scholars organization.

The Generals practice at Teegarden Park in Berwyn , PA. Flag teams will play their 2005 home games at Valley Forge Middle School in Devon.Tackle teams will play their 2008 home games at Reitnour Familiy Field in the new "Wilson Park" complex recently developed by Tredyffrin Township.
