2007 Conestoga Generals Game Reports - Week 1Tackle 90-2 vs Lenape Valley - 20-0 The Generals 90-2 team, known by insiders as the Big Red Machine, opened the 2007 season in dominating fashion defeating a Lenape Valley Indians squad 20-0 on the road and under the lights. Dox "Sunshine" Aitken started this year the same as last, with a long TD run on the Generals first series (the boy can flat-out run!). The Generals executed to perfection on the extra point as Will "Taz" Reiss, who played a great game in his first start at QB, rolled out and hit the sure-handed Jake "The Snake" Honesty in the end zone. On the Indians first series the Generals D went to work. Danny "Sackmester" Shank, Zach "Nails" Kravitz, Matt "Hulk" Heron and Tommy "The Bull" Fogarty showed the Indians what a D line can do as they stuffed the run all night long. With the ball back in the O's hands, Andrew "The Shark" Larkin got to celebrate his birthday the proper way as he scored the Generals 2nd TD with a fine run. Larkin's TD was the result of the sound blocking by Jaydon "Golden Boy" McGoldrick, Matt "Icebox" Izzo and Hudson "Hawk" Hamilton. Marty "Mad Dog" McGuckin ran hard and punched in the extra point. The D continued to control the game as Tom "Doomsday" Dougherty, Nick "The Falcon" Falcone and Will "The Thrill" Chiles denied all of the Indians' attempts to get something going. Taz Reiss blew up the Indian QB with an amazing sack and Niko "Wild Thing" Henry hit an Indian ballcarrier so hard he knocked him out of his shoe! Shark Larkin had a terrific pass deflection from his cornerback slot and it is safe to say the Indians offense is not looking forward to seeing #5 (Sunshine Aitken) on the field anytime soon. Several of the Generals carried the ball in the 2nd half but Dylan "The Yak" Sidoriak was something special, running like a manchild possesed. A great win with everyone contibuting, the Generals look to continue their winning ways next week on the road at Northampton. | |
